Ring Rush

The Telekinetic Battle Game

In the world of The Magnet of Marjon, Ring Rush is more than a game. It is a test of focus, instinct, timing, and telekinetic control — a contest where one ringwright tries to guide a metal ring through a sequence of guarded gates while defenders use their own abilities to block the score.

How the Game Works

A Ring Rush course is built along a street or arena path with five gates set apart at increasing distances. Each gate has a different shape — circle, triangle, diamond, square, or another design — and each one is guarded by a player trained to deflect the ring.

The ringwright stands at the start of the course and directs a single metal ring telekinetically. The goal is simple to understand and difficult to achieve: send the ring cleanly through as many gates as possible before the guardians knock it away, redirect it, or force the ring out of line.

The game rewards more than raw power. A good ringwright reads the guardian, studies the field, senses the smallest opening, and moves the ring at exactly the right moment. Victory belongs to the player who can think faster than the defense can close.

The Ringwright

The attacking player. The ringwright guides the metal ring with telekinetic precision, trying to score by passing it through each gate.

The Guardians

The defenders stationed beside each gate. Their job is to use telekinetic force to deflect, stall, or redirect the incoming ring.

The Gates

Five shaped targets spaced along the course. Each successful pass through a gate scores, but every gate becomes harder to read.

Why It Matters

For Gideon Irondell, Ring Rush is not just a sport. It is one of the first places where his instincts, his strange inner hum, and his growing abilities begin to move together. On the course, he learns that power is not only about force. It is about alignment, timing, and seeing the pattern before anyone else does.

A single gate can reveal a weakness. A single ring can expose a gift. And a game played in the streets of Karthune can become the first sign that Gideon is far more than anyone expected.

Five gates. One ring. A guardian at every score. Ring Rush is where instinct becomes strategy — and strategy becomes power.
